Types of Therapy Offered

Individual Therapy

One on one therapy in which a treatment plan is created based on the client’s own individual goals of therapy. The therapy provided will be drawn from a multitude of evidenced based practices (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, & Solution Focused Therapy) based on what each individual’s presenting problems include.

Areas of Expertise

Depression

Feeling low? No motivation? More sleepy than usual? Depression could be the culprit. These feelings and symptoms can make it challenging to live life to its fullest potential. I can help you to identify harmful thinking and guide you towards a mindset that serves you and your life better.

Disordered Eating

I work with disordered eating from a Health at Every Size (HEAS) and anti-diet lenses. Whether you feel you are “addicted” to food, don’t eat enough, are an “emotional-eater” I will help to guide you to a more intentional place with your eating through intuitive eating. ALL bodies are good bodies and deserve to take up space. I’m here to help you take back what diet culture took from you.

Note: At times, additional medical attention may be necessary.

Grief

While grief and loss is a forbidden, uncomfortable topic for many, here at Illuminate, it is more than welcomed. It’s one of the things that words can never heal, but what I can do is provide you the space to feel and process. Walking through the very non-linear grief process is not something you have to do alone. 

Life Transitions

New job? New baby? New city? New relationship? A transition is any change you may go through in your life no matter how big or small it may seem. And let’s be honest, change can be messy and hard. It’s not about perfection, but rather about getting you to a place where you feel confident in embracing your new situation to the best of your abilities.
